INTRO

These pages come as a result of my 25 year association with Barry Flanagan. He expanded, broadened and enlightened me in this field and I consider myself remarkably privileged to have been exposed to his influence.

As a result there is one page entitled ‘Flanagan’ and it deals specifically with our joint endeavors from 1988 till his death.

He was an obscure man who spoke obliquely and despite his success in the world of Art, shunned ‘advertising’ or ‘public relations’.
He went to great lengths to do this as he felt his work should speak for itself.

I last saw him when he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease.
He died four months later, on 31.08.2010.

As a ‘Poet of the Building Site’ he was in a league of his own.
I believe the dancing wonderful movement of his bronzed Hares will live, long after the crumbling artefacts of modern society, have been forgotten.

Photography has become an modern art form. The camera has become a tool available to anyone, capable of understanding the very basics of digitality.
I began my digital camera career, courtesy again of Barry Flanagan, who bought a ‘Digital Sony Camera One’, way back in 1994.
Later I intend to scan some of these images onto this page.

I believe the state of mind of the photographer has as much to do with image he/she takes, as the actual sight before their eyes.
I have initially divided these pages into four.

Each page contains 4 photos which expand when clicked on:

Finally an ‘Artist of the Moment’.
