Alston - Cumbria

A silence
Not outside
But inside
Stillness

Like a stone
Over which
Water falls

I remain
Beneath the river
Furnishing my depths
Before silently

I dissipate
And thrown outside
Become mercurial,
Like a moon…

White Rose

I love
The little white rose
Outside
My window…
She has withstood
The elemental forces
With all her petals
Intact…
And I have watched,
Deeply impressed,
By her immutable nobility
In the face
Of all winter’s worst
Warnings…
This little white rose
In continual bloom…
I love you little white rose
For being
A true friend…

Xmas Poem

Birth
2000 years of birth.
Each moment,
A new moment,
A rebirth of being
All the varying miracles
Of new materialisation
In the visible
Pico seconds of time
Lost to everything.
Birth of self
And this (k)newness
Each day
For 2000 years
A child
Born
In
Bethlehem.
