WHY WHAT IS POETRY?
The idea is to create a broader discussion regarding Poetry and what its properties are.
Poetry as an inclusive, not exclusive discipline, creatively speaking.
Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen are two, highly skilled late 20th century exponents, of this art.
This puts the emphasis on originality as opposed to academia.
It puts poetry in the field of being written for the writer to learn from.
In this form, poetry has no linguistic restriction.
Classic pre conditions to form have no place in this type of writing.
Indeed they become a preconception that limits conception.
If a poem coincidentally takes a classic form that is all it is.
A coincidence.
What happens?
Do I make up the poem,
Or does the poem
Make me up?
